Faubion Stair Project

Finished Stairway

This growing family bought an interesting home out in Tesuque. This rare steep pitch roof home uniquely offered almost 2,000 square feet of attic space; read great space for children’s rooms! We built a lovely curved stairway for this family to access to upstairs and enable work and dreaming to blossom in this previously under used area. I had only been accessible by pull down stair. Our architect, Jose Luis La Cruz Crawford, and president, Andrew Hunt, of Love Builds, Inc. worked together to find the best spot structurally and aesthetically to bring the stairway gracefully down into the main part of the home. The result was a fluid addition which is indistinguishable from the original construction. Love Builds team expertly fashioned on site a kind custom plywood “beam” to minimize the depth of the stair structure and also to minimize deflection so that true interior plaster could be used without risk of cracking. Delgado’s Iron works of Santa Fe, fashioned the custom hand rail using wonderful stair components from south Texas.  Please check out the photos of this elegant stair project!
